"I rejoice in the compilation and publication of this book, entitled "The Light of Dharma" by the Jamgon Kongtrul Labrang. It is my inspiration and wish that this brief history will serve to give rise to confidence in the life stories of the lineage masters."

His Holiness the Karmapa, Urgyen Trinley Dorje
Read His Holiness foreword

The life stories of great Buddhist masters have served as an inspiration to practitioners of the Path and the activities they perform during their lifetimes are a guide to devotees who follow and reap in their footsteps.
The "Light of Dharma" introduces the activities of the Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoches since the lifetime of the first, Jamgon Kongtrul the Great, Lodro Thaye. Through history, according to time and condition, these activities have continued, evolved and grown to benefit beings temporally and ultimately, under the guidance and inspiration of each successive incarnation. The present incarnation is His Eminence the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, Lodro Chokyi Nyima, and a brief pictorial biography capturing his activities is included in the book.
