![]() Pullahari Monastery, Nepal
Locations of Monasteries We have 350 monks and 65 retreatants in our monasteries and retreat centres in Nepal, India and Tibet. They depend on the generosity of benefactors whose offerings also help to preserve a monastic tradition that has prevailed through the ages since the time of the Buddha, through the spread of the teachings and practices to Tibet, until today. The whole way of life in the monastic communities preserve the philosophic view, scriptures, rituals, arts, dances and practices according to the teachings of the Buddha. Trained in all aspects of Buddhism, the communities respond to the spiritual needs of individuals, societies, the nation and the world. The tradition of training in loving-kindness and compassion is passed on from older monks to younger ones by way of instructions and example.
