All students are required to attend the main teachings
and at least one Tibetan Language or Scripture class.

Entrance to the Middle Way
by Chandrakirti

Teacher:
Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgial
English Translator: Jim Scott

Chandrakirti's "Entrance to the Middle Way" belongs to the Prasangika tradition. Learned masters of both the Indian and Tibetan Buddhist traditions acclaim this text as an authoritative expression of the Rangtong view and have, therefore, always included it in any serious curriculum of Dharma studies, both in earlier times and right up to the present day.
Rangtong eliminates the extreme of nihilism by describing apparent reality as consisting of interdependently originated appearances. It eliminates the extreme of eternalism by presenting the abiding nature of these appearances as being emptiness. The union of these two is thus free from both the extremes.
The Rangtong view is presented according to the Svatantrikamadhyamika tradition (the Autonomy Middle Way School) and Prasangika tradition (the Consequence Middle Way School) and there are many shastras explaining both.
