Progressive Stages of the View of Emptiness

The Principal Aspects Of The Path
Lam gTso rNam gSum by Je Tsongkhapa
Based on the commentary “The Path of Liberation for the Fortunate Ones” (Tib: sKal bZang Thar Pa’i Jug Ngogs) by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye.

The Regent Maitreya and Arya Asanga taught that the whole range of topics of all the excellent teachings of the Victors is contained in the sequential paths of the three kinds of beings. The path of those of initial and intermediate capacity consists of renunciation, and the path of those of greatest capacity consists of Bodhicitta. Right view is that shared by both Mahayana and Hinayana. Thus the three essential and crucial points of renunciation, compassion, and right view encompass the full sequence of the paths of the three kinds of beings.
