The Very Ven. Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche successfully initiated and guided the Rigpe Dorje program at Pullahari from 1992 to 2001. Through his wisdom and compassion, he fulfilled the intentions of the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche in creating an environment for study and practice at Pullahari and resounded the Dharma from there to around the world. In 2001, he appointed the Very Ven. Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal to succeed him as Principal Teacher and Advisor of the Rigpe Dorje Program.

The Very Ven. Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal

Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal completed the 9-year Acharya program at Nalanda Institute, Rumtek Monastery. He studied under the guidance of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. After his graduation, he was appointed a Khenpo of Nalanda Institute where he taught for two years. Following that, he entered the three-year retreat at Pullahari Monastery under Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. When he completed the retreat, he was appointed Drupon (retreat master) of Kunzang Dechen Osel Ling, the Mahamudra retreat centre at Pullahari Monastery. The combination of immense learning and intensive meditation is clearly evident in his teachings. His way of making even the most complex and subtle Dharma subjects immediately accessible to students is a constant inspiration to all.

Drupon Khenpon Lodro Namgyal is now the principal of the Rigpe Dorje Institute of Higher Buddhist Philosophy at Kagyu Tekchen Ling, Lava, India, and personal tutor of philosophy to His Eminence the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

Khenpo Chokey Gyaltsen

Khenpo Chokey Gyaltsen graduated from Nalanda Institute in Rumtek, Sikkim, in 1991. After his graduation, he was appointed a Khenpo at the Institute along with Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal and seven others from the same graduating class. He taught in Nalanda Insitute for one and a half years and joined Pullahari Monastery in 1992 to serve the projects and activities of H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. He resides at Pullahari Monastery and travels to help guide and teach at His Eminences' centres in Asia, Africa, Europe and Canada.

Khenpo Sherab Gyaltsen

Khenpo Sherab Gyaltsen Negi graduated from Nalanda Institute at Rumtek Monastery in 1991 and was awarded the title of Khenpo in recognition of his scholarship. He taught at the Nalanda Institute one and a half years and joined and joined Kagyu Thekchen Ling in Lava, Kalimpong in 1992 to serve the various projects and activities of His Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. He also completed the traditional three-year Shangpa Kagyu retreat at Mirik Monastery under the guidance of Very Venerable Bokar Rinpoche and Khenpo Lodro Donyod Rinpoche. Today, he is mainly involved with work for Rigpe Dorje Publications.
